A Day at Bein Performance Horses
[ view video]

At Bein Performance Horses we take great pride in our lesson program. Students in our program take a hands on approach to horsemanship. Each lesson starts in an orderly fashion; students come to the barn, look at the lesson board to see what horse they will ride (as well as the equipment they will use). Students learn to ride utilizing excellent horses, equipment, & instructors. Each horse is selected based on its past performance history (training & show record), soundness, personality, & ability to recognize the skill level (or lack of) for each rider. Many of our lesson horses have competed at the national level.

Students all begin their riding career bareback to learn balance. Once the rider has established their seat, they move to a hunt saddle for a number of lessons. At this time they begin riding western. Once they have fully benefited from those disciples, we encourage our riders to try Saddle Seat, Sidesaddle, Show Hack, Reining, Trail, Showmanship, etc. Beginner lessons are all given in a one on one, private atmosphere. Once riders are at the intermediate level, they are eligible for Seminar (group Equitation lessons) which are held on Saturdays.

Jessica Bein is a level 2 ARIA certified instructor for Saddleseat and Reining.

Beginner riders usually start riding on Shorty or Via. Shorty is a Palomino, Quarter Horse gelding that was used only has a rope horse until recent years when one of the students at Bein Performance Horses used him as a project horse. The project was to utilize the skills that they had acquired to bring a horse along to a proficient level. Now Shorty is a barn favorite! Via is an Arabian mare who has been a member of Bein Performance for a number of years.

For riders wishing to try riding Saddle Seat, Show Hack, or Native Costume, SS Carolina Kid is the one to try! "Kari" is a Regional Champion Halter & Saddle Seat Eq horse, as well as a US National Top Ten Driving horse. She is a seasonal lesson horse, as she is also a seragate and has produced fabulous up & coming prospects!

Viva Las Fame-Us, AKA "Daisy" is also used for Intermediate lessons and has begun her show career with students from Bein Performance Horses.

New to the lesson program this year are Tsparklen Jewel+// & Im Destinees Hobby+//. You will see pictures of Destinee throughout the site as she is also a very successful show horse, having won 7 National championship in trail & reining! Destinee is a favorite in the lesson program because she is very smooth. Pictured below doing a bridless spin with, LeighAnn Langley, Jewel was brought on board for students to use a reining lesson horse, but don't let that fool you! She can also be seen in hunter & walk trot lessons!
