It is without reservation that I can recommend Bein Performance Horses to anyone interesting in riding whether you have ever been on a horse before or not. The program is administered in a professional and safe manner for both horse and rider.  From first ride to first slide, the BPH program has produced national champion horses and riders as measures of it?s success.  More importantly, it teaches responsibility, teamwork, and dedication to the pursuit of excellence.

Jessica Bein is a multi-national champion herself, riding, training and producing multiple national champion horses and riders in a variety of disciplines. Her program works.

I know, I am a client and I started taking lessons at BPH several years ago when I wanted to get back into riding after more than 20 years off.  Having ridden as a child I had some idea of what I wanted from a riding program.

The program at BPH started me riding bareback on a retired champion!  I believe bareback is the best for teaching one balance and it was how I originally learned to ride so many years ago.  The lesson horses at BPH are responsive and well trained, making the learning experience both effective and enjoyable.

I was quite pleased when Jessica was able to come up with a lease arrangement for me. It was a great way to test drive the time and financial commitment of horse ownership and decide if this was something I willing and able to pursue on a more permanent basis.

After spending considerable time participating in and watching her training program I was confident in Jessica's ability to find just the right horse for me. And she did.  A beautiful 3-time reserve national champion that was a show ring veteran nicknamed Nicky. Nicky and I spent the next year showing hunter pleasure in the adult amateur division.

Soon another class began to catch my eye at the shows and that was reining. The horses would slide and spin and the riders were all having so much fun.  It was not to long before I asked Jessica if I could take a reining lesson. And before you know it, I was asking Jessica to help me purchase a reining horse to go show. Once again, Jessica found me the perfect horse.  I couldn't love him more and he has been a great ride for me this year at the NRHA (National Reining Horse Association) shows.   I couldn't be happier at Bein Performance Horses, they have certainly helped me achieve my   dream to ride and beyond.  Everyone is so nice and so supportive.  I am having the time of my life showing my new reiner, Dunny.

Thank You, Bein Performance Horses!

Sincerely,

Leigh Ann Langley

To Anyone Considering Joining the Bein Team:

In 2005, I bought a 9 year old half-arab “reiner” mare from another trainer here in town. I had started taking lessons again a few months earlier and wanted to learn reining. After a year and a half of full-time training, the horse had not shown much improvement in skill or temperament and wasn’t remotely able to change leads, turn or stop.... I was pretty gullible and naive at the time and kept hoping things would get better. I finally decided to move my horse to a different barn and see what else was out there.

I talked to a handful of reining trainers here in the Scottsdale area to try and find the best fit for me and was impressed whenever I saw Jessica or her riders at shows. Being a beginner, I was intimidated by all the championship pictures on Jessica’s website and hesitant to move to a barn with so many successful riders and horses, but after I met with Jessica and toured the ranch, I felt completely relaxed and brought my horse over the next day.

It took Jessica about a week (probably more like an hour, but she was too polite to spring it on me) to deduce that my horse was not reiner material - not no way, not no how - and she left it up to me as to whether I wanted to keep working with the same mare or sell her and buy another horse.

Jessica told me about a mare that she knew well and sounded perfect for me so I bought her, sight unseen, based on Jessica’s recommendation. In October of 2007 I became the proud owner of Scat Cat+, a gorgeous purebred Arab reining mare with several championships and the most extraordinary temperament and an amazing ability to make me look like I could ride.

Between Jessica’s training and the confidence that Scat Cat gave me, we were able to show at Scottsdale three months later and we actually won a buckle in the Novice class! I was just hoping to not fall off or embarrass the barn but that day a longtime dream finally came true after 30 years!

Jessica liked Cat’s two babies by Wimpy’s Little Step and encouraged me to breed her to Smart Spook, the only horse to win the NRHA Futurity and Derby back-to-back as well as two FEI World Reining Masters’ Championships. So yet another dream came true when Mosby a/k/a One Wicked Spook was born last year. He’s huge and shows a ton of promise so we’re keeping our fingers crossed and can’t wait to see what kind of horse he becomes when Lauren starts him next spring.

Since Cat is such a good Mom and produces such gorgeous babies, we just bred her to Muscam+// and are hoping for a rockstar in the 2013 pure Arab reining futurity!!!

Winning is great, but the journey and process of continual learning and improvement is what has changed my life and taught me a new appreciation for things I used to take for granted. Reining is hard. You can’t just decide you want to be the best and go out there and start blazing a trail right away. Discipline and commitment are not optional and there’s no end to the learning process. You’re always building on your skill and there’s never a point when you’ve mastered it. You just keep accumulating tools and putting them all together.

The riders and families of the Bein Team are the greatest group of people and we support and cheer each other on every chance we get. Jessica and Lauren are excellent trainers and mentors and have taught me so much over the last four years. I’m blessed and thankful to have them in my life!

Very sincerely,
Kristin DelMonte
